Seleraku Los Angeles Llc, was created during the pandemic in 2020 from an idea to bring traditional Indonesian food to the West Hollywood area. A location that we felt was severely lacking in the exotic vibrant flavors of the Islands. Nick and Pheren teamed up in that endeavor combining Nick's experience of Balinese food and Pheren's hometown expertise of Javanese food. Two different regions specializing in their own distinct styles and flavors. We wish to spread this wonderfully diverse cuisine and help others discover the complex and unique taste of Seleraku (meaning "My taste " in Bahasa Indonesia)
Chef and Owner of Seleraku Los Angeles was born and raised in California and exposed to Asian/California cuisine from an early age. After spending 15 years as a professional cook he was afforded the opportunity
to travel through out Indonesia. There he discovered the rich food
and culture of the islands.
The experience left an indelible impression on him and he was inspired to bring more awareness of the cuisine to the western world.
Founder, Chef and COO of Seleraku Los Angeles. She was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia's largest city. She has extensive knowledge of Indonesian culture and is the heart and soul of Seleraku. She has always had a natural passion for travel and food which is expressed in a unquenchable curiosity.
